Graffiti

Graffiti has a negative impact on feelings of safety, property value and the well-being of our schools. By contrast, well-kept schools promote improved public safety and community pride.

We have a "zero tolerance" policy toward graffiti. As soon as we notice graffiti, we remove it.  If it is not removed from public view soon after it appears, it can become a magnet for more.

Graffiti removal process:
  1. Custodians immediately remove graffiti using graffiti remover.
  2. If the graffiti remains visible, paint over the graffiti.  Immediately cover residual graffiti with paint of the same color and sheen as the surrounding wall.  If the entire wall requires repainting, contact District Maintenance Department for assistance.
  3. If the graffiti is on a sensitive surface, for example stone, brick, unpainted metal, contact District Maintenance Department for assistance with cleanup using our graffiti vacuum.
